What the month costs

employer cost, agents only

Total employer cost a month

Amounts are computed exactly and shown to the leu, rounded down. Not included: team leaders, quality, workforce planning, recruitment, space, IT, telephony and licenses. The employee’s own contributions and income tax are withheld from gross pay, so they are not an extra cost.

How we calculate

Every number, in plain words.

  1. Spread the month over the open hoursMonthly contacts ÷ open days in an average month, then shared across the open half hours by the shape you chose.
  2. Traffic in each half hourContacts in the half hour × handle time ÷ 1,800 seconds = the workload in erlangs.
  3. Agents on the lineThe fewest agents that meet your service level. Erlang C assumes every caller waits; with patience, Erlang A lets callers hang up and counts them as not answered in time.
  4. Occupancy cap and the minimumNever more busy than your maximum occupancy, and at least one agent whenever you are open.
  5. Hours, then FTEAgents × half hours over the open days of a year: 250 working days on Mon–Fri schedules, 365 for 24/7. One seat needs 2,000 h (09–17), 3,000 h (08–20) or 8,760 h (24/7): 1.09, 1.63 or 4.76 FTE before other shrinkage. FTE = hours ÷ (1,840 × (1 − other shrinkage)).
  6. Whole shifts, then peopleThe day is covered with whole shifts of 8 hours (shorter for part-time contracts). Each person can work 230 days a year after weekends, public holidays and 20 days of leave. People = shift-days a year ÷ 230 ÷ (1 − other shrinkage), rounded up.
  7. Pay and premiumsBase pay starts at the national minimum of 4,325 RON, plus your percentage. 24/7 adds 25% for the share of hours at night (shifts with at least 3 night hours), your contract’s weekend premium and 100% for hours on public holidays; overtime is paid at 1.75 × the hourly rate (base ÷ 166.667 h).
  8. Employer cost per FTEGross pay + 2.25% employer contribution (on gross less the 200 RON exemption when it applies) + meal vouchers × 19.17 days worked a month + the disability fund + health checks + safety training + the benefits you ticked. The team costs this × headcount.

Divide by (1 − shrinkage). Never multiply by (1 + shrinkage).
